Goolies, Goblins and Things that Go Bump in the Night

Boo! I decided on “Goolies, Goblins and Things that Go Bump in the Night” because it’s Halloween this month. So I thought it was appropriate to give my opinion on creepy monsters, hauntings and the like.

There is such prevalence on TV and in the movies about monsters, evil ghosts, evil boogie men etc. There’s no shortage of those that are constantly fighting these things off . There’s also no shortage of warriors who try to seek these things out, do battle and send these nasty spooks back to the dark side. Steven King has lots of fans.

It never ceases to amaze me the general public’s fascination with everything dark, negative and nasty when it comes to Spirits. Most shows focus and dwell on this.

Unfortunately much of the general public seems to believe that anything to do with Spirits can only be negative, nasty and monstrous. It’s on TV and in the movies so it must be true?

Then there’s faith traditions that truly believe in the Devil, demons etc. Their congregations are bombarded with this weekly at Church services. I do not believe in the Devil demons etcetera for a couple of reasons. The meaning of these words has been distorted over several thousand years. I have read books and articles on the internet by eminent scholars who have different meanings for the Devil, demon, Lucifer. They are apparently slurs used in Biblical times against the King of Babylon. And in some areas, they are idioms or slang for other slurs. Humans have a tendency to rewrite stories over time to suit their needs. And the other reason is my own Spirit Guides have confirmed this for me.

Well I think that a quote from the movie Ghostbusters sums it all up for me, “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts.”

I’d like to be someone who speaks about the positive aspects of communicating with Spirits and the benefits I’ve received. I’m not sure why I or anyone else would want to make the connection if it’s some sort of boogie man at the other end. I’ve only ever had positive communications from those on the Other Side. The communications have been uplifting, helpful and comforting.

Granted the world represents everything in the Universe. So there’s bound to be terrible people everywhere. I choose not to associate with them. And that is possible. No one has to associate with a Spirit if they don’t want to.

There’s a terrible recipe it seems, imagination, preoccupation with the negative and the end result is fear in many cases instead of the joy of communication with the higher levels of consciousness.

Today’s society seems to be all about violence even when we live in relatively safe countries in North America. Isn’t there enough war and savagery elsewhere? Why does media have to make so many movies and TV shows that are all about violence and monsters?

It’s a sad reflection on our society that we seem to lap this stuff up. I’ll get off my soap box now.

There are a couple of respected paranormal investigators who agree with what I’ve said in this Article. They are: Hans Holzer, in his book “Ghosts: True Encounters with the World Beyond” and Loyd Auerbach “Ghost Hunting: How To Investigate the Paranormal”. I’ve posted a link to a recent article entitled “Should you be Afraid of Ghosts…..?” by Stephen Wagner in the Intuitive Power Group and Spiritualist Connections Group. Please join in a discussion in one of the Groups.
